Change the way this site looks
You can change the way this website looks to suit your needs. The settings available differ from browser to browser, but most browsers offer some or all of the following:

Change the font size
You can adjust the size of nearly all the text on this website by using the font size setting in your browser. This setting is found in the 'View' menu of most browsers.

Other text and colour changes
Some browsers allow you to change the default font and background colours you use. These settings are usually found in the 'Options' or 'Preferences' menus.

Use a 'plain' layout
Many browsers allow you to strip a web page of all layout and styling by turning off the website 'style sheets'. If your browser supports this setting you will most likely find it in the 'View' menu.

Keyboard access
Most browsers let you skip from link to link using the TAB key. The current link will be highlighted in yellow. To move backwards, hold down SHIFT and press the TAB key.

Access Keys
Access Keys are keyboard shortcuts to common pages on a website. This website does not use Access Keys because evidence suggests that they interfere with the keyboard controls of many browsers and screen readers.

Privacy Notice

London Underground requires that anyone working on their infrastructure must have the necessary understanding on access, health, safety and environmental issues affecting the Underground. LUCAS (also known as e-Portal) is the system used by London Underground to manage and enable bookings for all required training for construction and engineering workers requiring access to work on London Underground infrastructure. Individuals who pass training have this data passed to the Sentinel system, used by London Underground and Network Rail.

Information about how Transport for London (TfL) websites and websites of its subsidiaries (including London Underground) collect data is available from TfL at https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/privacy-and-cookies/website-privacy.

Reference Point Ltd (“we”) are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy when you are using LUCAS services. We supply and host the LUCAS system for TfL/London Underground. Our offices are at Technology House, 2-4 High Street, Chalfont St. Peter, Gerrards Cross, SL9 9QA +44 (0) 1753 279 927.

Questions, comments and requests regarding this privacy information should be addressed to our Data Protection Officer at support@referencepoint.co.uk.

The purpose of processing personal data within LUCAS is to take bookings for courses from companies that have a contract with London Underground. Our legal basis for processing is to fulfil the agreement between us and London Underground to provide the LUCAS system. Bookings are not taken direct from individuals looking to reserve a space on a course. If you are an individual for whom a course has been booked, details of how your personal data is processed should be available directly from the company who has collected your personal information and booked the course for you.

The type of information we collect into LUCAS are registration details for individuals at companies who are using LUCAS to book courses, including names, employers, e-mail address, date of birth, NI number and delegate home address and contact number of individuals for whom courses are booked.

The relevant course provider and their course trainers will receive this information in relation to individuals who are to attend their course.

Bookers are also asked to confirm what forms of ID the delegate will bring along with them when attending training. In addition to the above we also connect the delegate to the course (course name, start date and time, venue/location) that the delegate will be attending.

Following training, relevant course achievement information will be passed to the Sentinel system, used by Network Rail and TfL to authenticate workers and their competences on site.

Information held within LUCAS will be stored in the European Economic Area (“EEA”). Our staff may be provided with access to such data in order to solve ad hoc technical issues when required. Currently all information is stored on secure servers located in the UK.

Information collected will be retained for a period no longer than is necessary to support the purpose of processing personal data set out above.

You have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal information (commonly known as a "data subject access request"). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.

  • Request correction of the personal information that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate information we hold about you corrected.

  • Request erasure of your personal information (commonly known as “the right to be forgotten”). This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal information where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal information where you have exercised your right to object to processing.

  • Object to processing of your personal information where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and there is something about your particular situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground. You also have the right to object where we are processing your personal information for direct marketing purposes.

  • Request the restriction of processing of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of personal information about you, for example if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.

  • Request the transfer of your personal information to another party.

Where processing is based on your explicit consent to our processing, you have the right to withdraw such consent (this will not affect the lawfulness of processing prior to the withdrawal of your consent).

If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer.

You have the right to lodge a complaint about our processing with the Information Commissioner.

Your provision of personal data is a requirement necessary for you to have access to the full range of LUCAS services.
